August 2024 Updates - Reminder Workflows, Web-Booking Updates, Asynchronous Care, and more

The August 2024 general release (12.11 2024.08) is now available to all customers.

Powerful Enhancements to Reminders

Reminders can now be sent to specific provider groups, facilitating task reassignment and resource solicitation. In PncAdmin > Provider Groups, designate a new or existing group for "Task Reminders" and set the appropriate security division.

We have also added additional views in PncChart > Provider > Reminders to improve team workflows:

  • My Owned Reminders

  • My Group Inbox

  • My Created Reminders

  • Other Inboxes

Finally, you can now create a reminder with context, similar to an instant message, by selecting the bell icon in the header while in a patient/client chart.

Web-Booking Updates

This release introduces several new features for web booking:

Days/Time Defaults: Configuration options to set global default days and times for appointments, with overrides available on the appointment built-in page.

Language: Users can now search for providers based on specific languages spoken, such as Spanish or Chinese.

Specialty: Enhanced search options allow users to find providers by specialty areas like Eating Disorders, Substance Use, and Mindfulness.

Community/Identity: Users can search for providers by community or identity groups, for example, Southeast Asian, LGBT, and Catholic.

Appointment Presence: The ability to override appointment presence on the appointment built-in page if the Visit Type is set to a presence of “Any”.

Eligibility Awareness: Ensures that appointments can only be scheduled on dates when an individual is eligible. This enhancement prevents patients/clients from booking appointments outside of their eligibility windows.

... and lots more. Read about all the enhancements in PncHelp.

Questionnaire Built-Ins for Asynchronous Care

Connect questionnaire built-in pages to your portal branching pages to collect information from patients or clients outside of an appointment and direct the responses to a form review queue for asynchronous care.

Examples of asynchronous care are:

  • Pregnancy testing and counseling

  • STI screening and treatment

  • Antibody lab titers and IGRA TB screening

  • Uncomplicated UTI treatment

  • Vaginitis testing and treatment

  • Birth control refills (pill, ring, patch, Depo)

  • Emergency contraception (Plan B)

  • Health and travel clearances

Questionnaire built-in pages allow users to create new clinic notes from the questionnaire responses in the Form Review queue. Templates for documentation and use of the order pad are determined by the mapping on the associated visit type. Questionnaire responses are inserted into the notes.

Retiring Legacy License Manage and Clinical/Med/Allergy Picklist Editors

The picklist editors under the Clinical and Medications and Allergies sections in the legacy Windows-based OpenAdmin application are retired as of the August 2024 release. The license manager in the legacy ApplicationManager is also retired. All functionality in these features is available in PncAdmin
